M4 Westbound Resurfacing J26 Malpas to J28 Tredegar Park,

The M4 Westbound Resurfacing project between Junction 26 (Malpas) and Junction 28 (Tredegar Park) aims to improve the road surface for smoother driving and enhanced safety.

Background

The M4 Westbound Resurfacing project between Junctions 26 (Malpas) and 28 (Tredegar Park) focused on upgrading the road surface to improve safety and traffic flow. ERH Ltd., in partnership with Centregreat Ltd. and their subcontractor Breedon Group, carried out the essential resurfacing works. To ensure minimal disruption, a full westbound closure was implemented between Junctions 25a and 28, enabling the resurfacing to be completed efficiently and safely.

The project was delivered on behalf of the South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA) and involved removing the old surface and applying new materials to extend the lifespan of the carriageway. The works were carefully coordinated to maintain safety for both workers and drivers, providing a smoother driving experience and reducing future maintenance needs on this busy stretch of the M4.
